An opportunity has arisen for a Store Manager to join a retail business supplying a wide range of paint, decorating materials and hardware products to trade and retail customers.

As a Store Manager, you will oversee branch operations, lead the store team, maintain stock levels and drive sales performance.

This role is based in Richmond, with occasional cover required at the Clapham branch (SW11 5RH), offering a salary of £38,000 - £40,000 plus benefits.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing daily store operations, including opening, closing, cash handling and reporting.
• Leading, motivating and supporting the team to achieve sales targets.
• Mixing paints and advising customers on paint and decorating products.
• Delivering excellent service to trade and retail customers, resolving queries and complaints.
• Monitoring stock levels, arranging orders and maintaining merchandising standards.
• Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers while maximising store performance.
• Ensuring health and safety compliance and providing cover at other branches when required.
• Perform other duties as required.

What we are looking for:

• Approx 2-3 years’ experience in retail management or supervisory position.
• Experience within a paint, hardware, building merchant or DIY retail environment.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team.
• Competence in using POS systems, IT and stock management systems.
• Good organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable:

• Experience working with retail and trade customers.
• Understanding of paint products and decorating supplies.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Working hours: 44 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with alternate Saturdays.
